Write a short history
List the symptoms, when they began and what makes them change. Include meter or pressure readings, safe photographs, previous reports and recent plumbing or building work. Mention any leak-sealing product used because it may affect the investigation.
Arrange safe access
Make known valves, the meter, manifolds and service cupboards accessible without dismantling anything. Discuss parking, gates, stairs and access restrictions. In a rented or shared building, confirm who can authorise work and arrange entry to other relevant areas.
Check the insurer’s requirements
If you intend to claim, ask about approval and evidence before the visit. Give us the claim reference and reporting instructions where relevant. Keep the booking scope, £1,750 package information and exclusions together so the access and repair plan is understood.
Plan the handover
Someone should be available to discuss findings and any targeted opening. At the end, understand the repair checks, report and one-year workmanship warranty. Ask what separate drying or reinstatement may be needed and retain your documentation for the insurer and property records.
How Leak Seaker can help
Our water leak detection starts with the symptoms and relevant history. For an agreed residential job, the £1,750 package includes specialist detection, necessary access, plumbing repair, parts, testing and an Written Trace & Access report, with a one-year workmanship warranty.
Decorative and remedial reinstatement is excluded. Cover and reimbursement depend on your insurer and policy. Commercial instructions are quoted separately.
